From the Hemet Fire Department: Around midnight on December 4th , a severe storm passed over the City of Hemet causing major flooding and damage to homes and businesses. Beginning at 00:00 and continuing through 07:00, the City of Hemet Fire Department responded to 28 calls for service. Throughout the night firefighters responded to calls for citizens trapped in their cars by flood waters, natural gas leaks caused by runoff debris, false alarms and of course medical aids. Seven people were assisted from their stranded vehicles and several others were advised to shelter in their homes until the waters receded. ###
