Before he made it in the Country world his music was rejected by almost every record label because they said he sounded too Country... In 1982 he was hired by a nightclub called The Nashville Palace as a singer AND a cook. In 1985 Randy Travis releases On The Other Hand but it met with mixed reviews and only made it to #65 on the charts...
