From the Royal Court Director: The Royal Court attended the western art show last Friday May 16, as well as attended the Lincoln School Fun Fair. At the art show the ladies visited the various booths of the artists, some of which have been coming to Ellensburg since the inception of the event by the Ellensburg Rodeo Association. It was nice to see the familiar artists and catch up with them, as well as introduce them to the 2014 Court. The ladies assisted with showing the items for auction after the quick draw presentation in which the artists had one hour to create a work of art from a blank canvas, clay or wood. My wife and I also made a purchase at the quick draw auction from Lucas Orthmann; artist and curator at the Clymer Museum in Ellensburg. If you weren’t able to attend this year, put it on your schedule for next year, you will be impressed! At the Lincoln School Fun Fair the ladies got to relive their childhood if only for a little while. The Ladies signed autograph cards, posed for photos with the kids, and even partook in some of the activities namely the cake walk. The ladies asked me if they could enter the cake walk only after they found out that dinner would be hours away; and as luck would have it Princess Bailey’s number was called and she picked out some sugar cookies to share with Princess Lutisha and Queen Andrea. Thank you very much to Rachel Case at Lincoln School for having us and a very big thank you to the Western Art Association for having us to your fantastic event! Enjoy the photos in the next post!
