From the sublime to the (slightly) ridiculous. Yesterdays movie suggestion is: The Abominable Dr. Phibes, and impossibly cheesy romp with more plot holes than a block of Swiss cheese. Vincent Price plays Dr. Anton Phibes, concert organist and biblical scholar, whose wife died during an emergency operation while he was on a concert tour. En route home, his car plunges off a cliff and he is supposedly killed, though in truth he survived, badly burned. After recuperating, he returns to London, and rebuilds his manor as a mechanical wonder that one reviewer described as making Disneyland look like Muncie, Indiana, and plots revenge against the doctors and nurse who were unable to save his wifes life. And of course, since he is a mechanical genius and a biblical scholar, revenge involves a lot of specialty gadgets and references the Old Testament plagues upon Egypt. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight..... Its probably best to leave your brain in neutral while enjoying this movie; thinking too hard would probably ruin the experience. imdb/title/tt0066740/?ref_=nv_sr_1
