Fulton County Partners with Turner Construction to Offer Free Construction Management Training Program to Business Owners The Program will assist minority-owned, women-owned and small emerging businesses Fulton County Department of Purchasing and Contract Compliance has partnered with Turner Construction to offer a Construction Management Training Program in Fulton County. The program called, “Construction Management for Emerging Small, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses: Your Road Map to Success” will be held every Thursday from September 17, 2013-October 24, 2013. There is no cost to participants and registration closes on September 6, 2013. Space is limited. The training will be conducted in Fulton County Government Center, Department of Purchasing & Contract Compliance Purchasing Bid Room located at 130 Peachtree St., SW, Suite #1168, Atlanta, GA. Turner began the construction management training program in Cleveland, Ohio in 1969, and it is offered annually across the country to minority-owned, women-owned and small emerging businesses. Upon completing the program, participants will know how to: Describe necessary elements for being a contractor Describe the fundamentals of estimating Define construction management Describe effective methods for locating, obtaining, managing and scheduling work The importance of bonding and insurance needed for the industry Ethics and compliance As a bonus, participants will be entitled to receive complimentary web-based learning courses as well as have the opportunity to purchase additional courses (including OSHA 30 hour course) at a discount.
