Funny, sad but true story from.... The Wonderful World of Charismania I go to a nice meeting on Friday night. (The name has been removed to protect the innocent) ;) I meet an old friend from a few meetings past, mostly Crowders named Mike Ross, and we have the nicest chat, about 45 minutes, that Ive had since my BFF ;) Alex Fedoronko passed away ~ chatting about the finished work of Christ, etc. It was SO refreshing! As we neared the end and the worship team finished tuning up, this stranger to us, a brother in Christ, bounds in, walks straight up to us as we chat and interrupts us, holding up a book that is entitled: DEMONS AND SPITUAL WARFARE: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW YADA YADA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.... Our Friend then announces to us: IF YOU ARE NOT ON FIRE FOR GOD, YOU ARE DOING THE WORK OF THE DEVIL! I stood there silent, shocked, wanting to reply something truly apt and fitting, but thought better of it as Holy Spirit gently nudged me to say nothing... My friend Mike said something quiet and loving to the effect of :Your on fire may not be my on fire or my brothers here as we are each sent out to touch a unique group of individuals. I then recalled some cool things about spiritual warfare which talk about us taking our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ... Phillipians 2:8 says the obedience of Christ was death, death on a cross.... So, taking our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ is taking them to the cross of Christ, where they were already crucified, killed, 2000 years ago. ...Or, before the foundation of the world if you prefer.
