GERMANY RELEASES NEW DOCUMENTARY MOVIE APTLY CALLED... DIE MANNSCHAFT New documentary charting Germanys road to victory in the World Cup premiers in Berlin. The German Football Association has held the premiere of a documentary celebrating Germany’s road to victory during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Taking its title from the side’s nickname, Die Mannschaft [The Team] premiered in Berlins Sony Center on Monday night. The German team (including Turkish-origin midfielder Mesut Ozil), head coach Joachim Low, FIFA president Sepp Blatter and German football boss Wolfgang Niersbach all stepped onto the red carpet before the screening. Saying that Germany deserved to win the World Cup, Blatter stated that among the big teams in the finals only Germany preferred an attacking style of play. Former Germany international Per Mertesacker, who retired after the World Cup, said it was an “emotional moment” for him to appear before fans in Berlin. Blatter presented the ‘FIFA World Champions 2014’ badge to Germany, which will display the emblem on its kit until the 2018 World Cup to be held in Russia. It’s a huge honor for our national team to be able to wear the World Champions Badge on their shirt and it is visible proof that they achieved great things in Brazil. The entire footballing community in Germany is proud of this golden emblem, DFB president Niersbach said. Die Mannschaft will be released on Thursday.
