GOD DOESNT SEND PEOPLE TO HELL. PEOPLE CHOOSE TO GO TO HELL! Author Miroslav Volf helps me reconcile the thought in the debate about my God being mean and cruel, bent toward wrath and judgement, making Him everything but all loving and completely merciful. Take heed to Volfs following words & eat your own words, if you, like so many, are guilty of misinterpreting the heart of God: There can be no redemption unless the truth about the world is told and justice is done. To treat sin as if it were not there, when in fact it is there, amounts to living as if the world were redeemed when in fact it is not. In taking upon himself the sin of the world, God told the truth about the deceitful world and enthroned justice in an unjust world. [Therefore], God will judge not because God gives people what they deserve, but because some people refuse to receive what no one deserves; if evildoers experience God’s terror, it will not be because they have done evil, but because they have resisted to the end the powerful lure of the open arms of the crucified Messiah (Exclusion & Embrace, 294-98).
