GOVERNANCE OF LIES By Titus Walamba Lies, half-truths and deception best describes the current governance by the PF government, they are determined to lie about everything ranging from their lies to develop Zambia to the health of their President; this is a government built on the sands of lies which will sooner be blown away as most of us are now able to see through their lies: Those who think it is permissible to tell white lies soon grow color-blind. The PF government and their sympathizers need to come to terms with reality, certain eventualities can be avoided if they came to terms with the truth. Above all, dont lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love. It was not long ago that we lost our late President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, something which perhaps would have been avoided had the people surrounding him given him chance to step down and focus on recuperating. But he was told lies that he could withstand the pressure that comes with running the office against professional opinion. I shudder to imagine the devastations that such an occurrence would bring if history repeated itself, contrary to common belief that those of us advocating for the president to step are his enemies, personally I can affirm that with great magnitude of LOVE and CONCERN that I wish for His Excellency to step down so that he can concentrate on his health. The health of Mr. Sata is worth more than his tenure of office, it would thus be folly to ignore his health to the furtherance of his stay in power. Afterall he is going to get the same retirement package. Those who want Sata to continue in office don’t have his interests at heart. MY OPINION PALL: Often, the greater our ignorance about something, the greater our resistance to change; Ignorance is an evil weed, which dictators may cultivate among their dupes, but which no democracy can afford among its citizens. Since the struggles for Independence Zambians have allowed themselves to duped that there is everything wrong with having a Tonga man as a President, but these are lies from the pits of hell depicting the true image of Lucifer the father of all liars. My assessment of Mr. Hakainde Hichilema is that he has defied all odds to prove those tribalistic politicians that their lies can no longer hold, if we are to prosper we need to love one another despite our tribal orientations and vote based on content and not imaginary attributes. Most people who oppose my thinking usually lack logical reasoning. Despite the fact that I am a son of Luapula Province, I have no shame in supporting HH or any other leader despite their tribe. The time is now ripe for us to consider putting UPND in power, young people have been condemned to the political closets of our nation, it is high time they broke free and took over the running of this nation. Having old people in governance has proved to be a liability as we have to deal with issues of their illnesses which comes with age and also their antediluvian ideas which can no longer cope with the dynamics of time. The only chance that PF has in the forthcoming by elections or even the 2016 elections is if they considered outsourcing candidates outside their party structures in the likes of Felix Mutati, Elias Chipimo or even Grandpa RB. Other than this there is a leadership vacuum in the party. THE MEASURE OF DEMOCARACY IN ZAMBIA: We have made huge strides away from democracy as our voices as a people are no longer valid, the so-called democracy is a caricature of the desires of those who govern us, thus, it would not be an imagination to assert that we a moving towards dictatorship. Dictatorship is a constant lecture instructing you that your feelings, your thoughts and desires are of no account, that you are a nobody and must live as you are told by other people who desire and think for you. I urge you my fellow citizens not to shun from issues that affect our nation or else posterity will deem us as coward fools. Even at the cost of my life I will continue to advocate for political reformation. Only those who are beneficiaries of the current despotic styles of governance fear change.
