GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY – I would say right at the beginning that I’m giving it a 5 out of 5, while Rocket and Groot have officially become my two most favourite people in the Universe. Here’s why.. 1. WHAT A BUNCH OF A-HOLES – Peter Quill/Star Lord, Rocket, Groot, Gomora and Drax the Destroyer – They are the Guardians of the Galaxy and they will make you swoon. Then we’ve got Ronan the Accuser, who will give Darth Vader a run for his money. We’ve got Yondu, the Space Pirate. And we finally get to see Thanos. The Thanos. It’s a geek fest out there. Goosebumps!!! 2. AIN’T NO THING LIKE ME, EXCEPT ME – Rocket is the star. Bradley Cooper just kills it with his voice. I don’t think I’ve ever rooted more for a computer generated character. Andy Serkis ?? Who Andy Serkis ?? 3. I AM GROOT – Just watch Groot to see how great he is. His moments are even better than the Hulk moments from The Avengers. And I don’t think any other Computer Generated character has ever made me so emotional with his antics. Great work by Vin Diesel. 4. I WOULD BE GRATEFUL TO DIE SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS – Gomora is the heart of the group. Zoe Saldana’s beautiful face makes it so much more interesting to watch. 5. NO ONE TALKS TO MY FRIENDS LIKE THAT – Dave Bautista as Drax has lifted the WWE curse. He can act and as we all know, give a mean beating too. A terrific example of how Marvel always gets it casting right. 6. I DONT LEARN, ONE OF MY ISSUES – Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star Lord is super fun to watch. Pratt certainly is a superstar in the making. He’s got a lot of spunk. You’ve gotta have a lot of spunk before you decide to sing and dance before taking on Ronan!! Pratt makes all the loony stuff work like magic. 7. HOOKED ON A FEELING – The 70’s Pop Tracks. They mean a lot to Peter Quill and we won’t complain that they do. They flow seamlessly with the film. 8. THEY GOT MY DICK MESSAGE – In trademark Marvel Style, they’ve got some great one liners. And I get tired of appreciating the fight scenes in all the Marvel films. Brilliantly executed, sans any blemish. The Guardians do kick a lot of ass. 9. WE ARE GROOT – Despite all the weird characters, the special effect laden scenes, the mayhem and the cocky proceedings, the film has a lot of Soul. Everything about the film is fun with a capital F and yet, it manages to make itself overflow with emotions. 10. BIT OF BOTH – If ever Joss Whedon decides to leave Marvel, I can safely say that James Gunn has it in him to take it over from Joss. The film is a perfect example of how to direct a comic book adaptation. It’s one of the best film from Marvel. Because of Rocket and Groot, I might just call it THE BEST film from Marvel. I just wish to thank Kevin Feige and the guys at Marvel for spreading so much happiness. And that old bugger Stan Lee for creating such wonderful characters in the first place. Irrespective of your feelings towards Comic Books or Superheroes, just go watch this film. If entertainment is what you seek, this is the best monsoon treat you can give yourself. You are going to come back feeling more than just entertained. And if you don’t watch it, well, I’m gonna call Rocket and he’s gonna blow you to bits with a weird weapon of his own making :D :D :D
