Gavin was crying shortly after being put to bed. With Lisa being sick, I told her I would get him if he kept crying after 15 minutes or so. FYI: He is amazing at putting himself to bed, but with his recent teething, he has been a little fussy. After about 15 minutes I went to go give him a bottle and settle him down, but found out, abruptly, that he was mad because he threw up his dinner. After changing him, and enlisting poor Lisas help, I was able to settle down the, now happy boy, and put him back down. After lying him down in his bed, I slowly backed away and watched him for a few minutes. Eyes closed, he whimpered, knowing that I wasnt holding him anymore. As I watched this beautiful little boy, who felt he was now out of the comfort of his father and mothers touch, I thought of our relationship with our Heavenly Father. With a broken heart, I wanted to whisper to him that I was still right there, even though he couldnt touch or see me. (Dark room). He comforted himself and dozed off to sleep, and I left. Im so grateful to have an amazing Heavenly Father who wants us to know he is there, but cant always let us know the way we would like him to. He loves us, and he will never allow us to be alone. Even when we feel we are.
