Gayle says: The Millenials are the ones who will have to figure out how to exploit he situation in which they find themselves. A lot of energy is spent bemoaning their awful fate and the gross unfairness of their place in the historical narrative. Now that this has been thoroughly analyzed and agreed to by all, they might want to change focus to how to fix things. In the past few weeks in conversations with three Gen Xers, ( legal, educational, and medical) they all brought up on their own that they find Millenials challenging to have in the workplace. They described a strong sense of entitlement, with little sense of place in the structural hierarchy. Work ethic, or lack thereof, was also seen as an issue. The overall sense was that “They just don’t get it.” Maybe it’s the Xers who don’t get it. The old order is passing away. There is going to be a new way to operate the world, and I would guess the Fourth Turning will determine whether it will be an improvement or a disaster.
