Gecko update: My son, who loves geckos and reptiles, came to help catch the gecko. As I ever so slowly and carefully pulled the hand towel away from the wall, my son moved in with the Dixie cup to trap the little bugger. Just as the Dixie cup was about to encapsulate him, the gecko ran to the right. As my son quickly moved the Dixie cup toward him again, the gecko ran back toward my son and then launched himself off the wall directly onto my son. My fearless, animal-loving, reptile-worshipping son jumped a foot in the air and squealed like a little girl. I now feel vindicated............. Oh, and that ticked my son off enough that he caught the little bugger and, with great fanfare, promptly tossed his monitor-lizard-wannabe in the flowerbed. And I now have a clean hand towel............... and very sterile lips.
