General Notice (Toksave Tasol) to all Forum Admins & Members & my - TopicsExpress

General Notice (Toksave Tasol) to all Forum Admins & Members & my Fb Friends As of Sunday October 5th, 2014, (probably later tonight) I will be going off social media and will not be around to help administer PNG NEWS (PNG’s largest Social Media News forum currently with more than 86,000 members and growing) and many other popular forums where I am an admin, but before any of my ‘self-appointed enemies’ get too excited and start celebrating, I must advise that I should be back after having a long overdue break but I don’t know when, particularly because I need to get back to the world of business and making money and cannot continue to spend so much time with admin duties and sharing news on Facebook. Plus I still have the book, Belden Namah’s political biography, to finish. A co-admin said I want to post a toksave just ‘to look important’ and just go have a break. Basically my response was that I think it is important to advise people (many other forum admins & forum members) by issuing a disclaimer that I will not be held legally liable for anything said or done during my absence and without my knowledge. For example if a post or any comments are not directly brought to my attention and I have not seen any request to delete any offensive post/comments or images and furthermore have never been asked to retract and or apologize (or publish a rebuttal), then I believe that I am not or rather should not be held legally liable for defamation because of other peoples comments. It’s important that all my co-admins are made aware that I will not be on Fb to assist if need be by deleting posts, removing suspected money scammers, removing spam, etc… It’s been tough being on social media. Overall I must say it has been an interesting, challenging but a constantly exhausting, time consuming experience. I kept on going although I initially wanted to deactivate my account last year and the main reason I kept on going was because of my concern for PNG. Another reason was because so many wonderful people (hundreds) have sent me messages (or publicly commented) with words of support, appreciation and encouragement - to keep the fire burning and to never give up as many people have relied on me to report or share news stories on different issues. It’s been issue after issue after issue to the extent that it has become blurred and I feel burned out. I need time out also to meditate, rejuvenate and re-focus. Unexpectedly I have received the highest praise in the past for my contributions, so I’m not looking for any praise because I have already received heaps (or trying ‘to look important’) by posting this and of course as many regular readers know I have also been attacked, received death threats, and criticized because of my posts or perhaps because of political or personal reasons. Other admins also have been threatened in the past and so anybody who thinks we have been regularly risking and sacrificing our lives by exposing corruption or posting controversial articles just to get likes and comments are badly mistaken or are just simply stupid. I have certainly not been active on social media to try and win a popularity contest and nor to make any enemies. I don’t mind criticism as I have said more than once but reading and responding to lies and negativity (more often than not from fake profiles) can be very draining energy wise and so I normally just ignore it but stress does build up and it has taken a toll on my personal life. I have made many mistakes (particularly because of tiredness) over the last one year as an admin on PNG NEWS and so I think I could have done a lot better as an admin/news reporter but I believe we are all prone to human error and can always correct ourselves and become stronger and smarter. Anyway, it’s time soon to exit and I am pleased that Anna Gerato Suckling is now an admin of PNG NEWS because I think she is smart, politically astute (has a political background like me) with a fighting spirit and therefore I kindly ask certain members (such as fake profiles) not to try and give her a hard time (because of political or personal reasons) like you have tried to give me because she may not be so polite as I have tried to be. I’ll try later to call in occasionally such as ONLY on Sundays to post the occasional story. In the meantime if anybody requires my assistance please feel free to inbox me. I will occasionally access my Fb messages via my email account as I have promised myself and my family that I will uninstall Facebook on my phone (to avoid incoming notifications taking up my time), but I cannot guarantee that I will read your message or respond to it. I also want to thank all my co-admins on PNG NEWS and many other forums/pages for their trust and confidence in me and apologize to admins on other forums that I have focused most of my time on PNG NEWS lately (over the last one year) and have not had the time to regularly communicate with you all. If anything important occurs which you think may require my attention and assistance then just email me or call me. If any breaking news or important news story comes up at any time during my absence (self- imposed exile) then I can always pass it on or I might get back on Fb to personally post it. Lukim yupela olgeta, na laikim yupela olgeta (even the fake profiles & my self-appointed enemies) :-)
