Geordie dialect is spoken on the banks of the River Tyne and broad Geordie within the city of Newcastle. The further you travel from Newcastle and the river Tyne the dialect differs, always changing from which ever area in the Northeast you are from. From around the Northumberland borders pit villages, farming areas, towns and cities, all the way down to the Durham borders, words and phrases have developed different meanings from one area to another. geordie-land.co.uk
