George Canyon Seeks Conservative Party of Canada Nomination for Alberta’s new Bow River riding Canadian Country Music Star, George Canyon is thrilled to announce his candidacy for nomination as Conservative Party of Canada representative in Alberta’s new Bow River riding. George has traveled extensively as a recording artist and garnered respect in the music industry winning multiple awards and selling over 300,000 albums. He was awarded a Canadian Country Music Association Humanitarian Award for the work he has done with Canadian troops and has held the position of Honorary Colonel in the Canadian Air Force and is currently the Colonel Commandant of the National Air Cadet Core of Canada. As a diabetic himself, he has gone across the country giving inspirational speeches to children with Type 1 diabetes and their families. George and his family live on a ranch in Southern Alberta and are actively engaged in their community. As a key member of the Southern Alberta flood relief initiative in the spring of 2013, George decided that he would like to seek other ways of serving his community. “The people in this riding are resilient and hard working. I was blown away by how well we all pulled together as a team while under the terrible stress of the flood crisis last year, the recovery of which is still ongoing. I live in this community and these people are my friends and neighbors. It would be an honor to represent them as Member of Parliament. For this reason I am excited to seek the nomination for representative of the Conservative Party of Canada in the new Bow River riding.” George will be spending the next few weeks and months traveling around and meeting with residents in the new Bow River riding.
