Germany to hire 500 Filipino nurses Friday, June 21, 2013 GERMANY has officially opened its doors for Filipino health practitioners as it announced the hiring of some 500 Filipino nurses by the end of 2014. In a statement, the German Embassy in Manila said that the German Federal Employment Agency (BA/ZAV) is looking to hire some 500 Filipino nurses as part of the Agreement on Triple Win Migration it signed with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). The Filipino recruits will first work as assistant nurses in hospitals. After meeting the foreign qualifications to work, they will then be absorbed as qualified nurses. All applicants must be Filipino citizens and permanent residents of the Philippines. Some other requirements are: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (four years professional education), active Philippine nursing license, at least two years of experience as a nurse in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and care institutions and knowledge of German language (minimum level). If there is no prior knowledge of the German language, the applicant must be willing to undergo six-month language training in the Philippines. Interested applicants must submit the requirements to POEA on or before June 30 this year.
