Getting the cuts. I got the cuts too many times to remember from various teachers. The 2 who stand out are for different reasons. Mr Baker, our geometry teacher. In form 1 he was big and scary. He had this strap called Elvis, and as he said Elvis would love to play a tune on your hands if you played up. We were too frightened to play up. By form 3 he was finally sick of me and I got 6 of the best. I was packing myself. The funny thing was it didnt really hurt. Our Art Teacher Mr Pain was from what I remember a pretty nice guy. But I also got 6 of the best from him. He opened up a draw and had about 5 or 6 straps in it. He told me to pick one so I did. He was a tiny man and I wasnt worried at all. Well it hurt like hell and I had to leave the room for about 10 minutes or so to compose myself. The moral I suppose, often the big scary guy isnt as bad as the quiet nice guy.
