Glebe Block after 1878 This block is on the south side of Dunlop St between Memorial Sq and Five Points. It was originally set aside in 1836 as a glebe for the Anglican Church in Barrie and leased to merchants, but passed to private ownership after the glebe land system was dismantled in 1852. These buildings were built after the fire of 1871 but were damaged by the fire that destroyed the buildings across the street in 1875.
