God is all-loving, but true #Love is only manifested within the - TopicsExpress

God is all-loving, but true #Love is only manifested within the framework of moral absolutes, which construct the very nature of reality. God is not a gooey, passive and flimsy governor -- He is Thee Sovereign Judge. While this rhetoric sounds like old-fashioned, man-made religious dogma, there is actually logical sense to this theology because it parallels everyday life as we know it. If right and wrong did not exist, then life would have no meaning; there would be no reason for existence and no purpose to pursue anything whatsoever -- no motivation to strive toward the attainment of goals, no reason to forgive, and no reason to love anything or anyone (period). In society we have a judicial system established to maintain law and order. If there were no laws, then anarchy would reign and humanity would likely go extinct. Where do laws come from? They are devised by the human conscience. Can the conscience be flawed? Of course! Nevertheless, God created mankind in His Image according to His Likeness. Therefore, whatever violates this natural order is characterized as evil. Evil (aka wickedness or lawlessness) damages the individual because it runs contrary to the universal nature of the Godhead. For example, if someone harms another in a society governed by just laws, that person may be tried and sent to prison. That is why punishment for wrongdoing exists. Meanwhile, since God is providential -- there is also a spiritual reason why the victim suffered harm. Thus if one seeks to understand why human suffering prevails on earth, in the midst of a loving God -- this is why.
