God is doing it again, turning me upside down after listening to Steven Ben-DeNoons teachings. Getting more and more revelations…the teaching opened my eyes to the prophecy in chapter 4 of Malachi concerning the returning of the spirit of Elijah. In Luke 1:17 where Zacharias receives the prophecy concerning the birth of John the Baptist, he stops after the first part of Malachi 4:6 quoting only “turning the heart of the fathers to the children” but leaves off the part about “turning the heart of the children to their fathers”, just as in Luke 4:18 (same book) Jesus reads the prophesy from Isaiah 61:1-2, while stopping in the middle of verse 2. He does this because the second part of verse 2 has to do with Jesus’ second coming and judgments” just as the second part of Malachi 4:6 has to do with end times… So what is turning the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to the fathers? Generally we as fleshly Christians living on the material plain, have quoted this having to do with families, but what does the Word of the Spirit have to say about who are the children and the fathers? Revelations 12: 17 talks about the “offspring” of the woman and describes them as “those who keep God’s commands and have the testimony about Jesus”. Who are the Father’s? According to Acts 3:13 and Acts 7:32, the Fathers are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Remember, NOT MOSES… because even Moses was told that God was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Just to distinguish we are not to return to the law) ( Remember circumcision was not of Moses but of the Fathers as I suspect were the holy days, but only put into a religious practice form by Moses {Mary’s opinion only}) When the Pharisees ask Jesus about Elijah coming first before the Messiah comes, Jesus answers, yes, he will come and “restore all things”, however you don’t understand, you will kill me and reject me this time…(paraphrase Mark 9:12) so there is coming another time, when the spirit of Elijah is released. What does it do the second time? It turns the children (the church) back to the fathers (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob). Is that not what has been happening since the middle of 1990s? That the church is returning back to their roots? So stop looking for the restoration of FAMILIES and start looking for the restoration of ALL THINGS. Part two to come…. The spirit of Moses and Elijah in our times.
