God told Adam and Eve they would "surely die ON THE DAY" they ate - TopicsExpress

God told Adam and Eve they would "surely die ON THE DAY" they ate from The Tree. 1) They did not physically die on "the day" they did. 2) Was God lying? 3) If we grant "the day" was the later date at which they physically died, does this not cast ambiguity over the word "day" itself, and muddy up the "24 hr day" notion? 4) Is it possible to "surely die" or to be "surely dead," while yet alive? 5) Was it logical to threaten Adam with death, seeing Adam, according to common thought, had never yet witnessed death, since the first indication of death mentioned is after the fall, in Gods tailoring the "coats of skins" to cover their shame? 6) Assuming there is a cohesive theme from Genesis-Revelation, and it is written that "Christ was crucified from the foundations of the earth," and that "He who knew no sin became sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him;" and, that we should "put on Christ," is logical that Adam did "die" in so much as the lamb which died and covered his shame did "surely die" in his place "in the day" he ate from it?
