God’s Will How do I know what God wants me to do? God’s Response Coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not let them go. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the city of Troas. That night Paul had a vision. He saw a man from Macedonia in northern Greece, pleading with him, “Come over here and help us.” So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, for we could only conclude that God was calling us to preach the Good News there. Acts 16:7-10 God’s will is both general and specific. God’s general will is for all people and is found in the Bible. It includes things that God expects from everyone, such as obedience, service, worship, fellowship, and prayer. God’s specific will is his plan for you as an individual. It may include your job, marriage partner, or a unique task he wants you to accomplish. When you follow God’s general will, you are exactly where he wants you, fully prepared to step into his specific will when he calls. You will hear him. God’s Promise You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. Psalm 139:3
