Good Friday all! We preview Saturdays (tomorrows) Fermilab/WGN Tornado and Severe Storms seminar on our WGN Midday News TODAY beginning at 12:12pm this afternoon. Joining us on air and at Fermilab tomorrow will be Governor Pat Quinn. Also on hand at noon and at Fermilab Saturday will be National Weather Service Director Dr. Louis Uccellini, Storm Prediction Center Director Dr. Russell Schneider, Ed Fenelon, Meteorologist in Charge of the National Weather Service-Chicago Forecast Office, nobel-prize winning climate researcher Dr. Don Wuebbles and Brian Smith, Warning Coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service-Omaha. The Cubs Home Opener is played today at Wrigley Field and the winds are to howl! This follows the biggest rains here--including a record-breaking April 3rd rain of 1.40 rain at Midway Airport---on Thursday. Severe weather hit downstate while big snows have accumulated to the north. Check out our Friday vignette and our Chicago Weather Center blog. Also, read more about our Fermilab program Saturday on wgntv. Just hit the WEATHER TAB and go to our blog for a complete rundown of our speakers and their talks. Hope to see you there. The programs begin at noon and 6pm and seating there is first-come, first-served--so please get there early. There are NO tickets required!
