Good Morning Facebook friends !!! Waking up in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the way to Sedona Arizona today. Last nights sleep proved to be very interesting . I feel the need to tell the world THE TRUTH about my past work life at the Hair Factory in the Sheraton hotel , St. Johns. Anyone in St.Johns and area really should know how the staff is treated. I started out in 1972 with Mr. Pelos on Water street. Locks Hiscock owned this salon and was always a gentleman and a scholar , a saint of a man who would NEVER condone the actions of the present owners.Sadly Locks passed away 10 years ago and the treatment of the staff has literally gone to hell in a hand basket. I am speaking up for EVERY stylist who has ever felt the need to leave due to health issues or to grow in other areas of life I am NOT the only one who has been treated like I was treated. I began work at the Sheraton in January 2002 after a call from the owner , desperately needing hairstylists. This owner was a client of mine before he was MY assistant. 3 years later, I became damaged goods. I had a slip and fall requiring a hip replacement. I received a huge bouquet of flowers from both Hair Factory and my former work place Hair Connection .NOTHING was going to hold me back , I felt. 3 months later I was back at work , good as new, but not permitted to have a high impact mat , as it would mess up the shop . Fast forward a few years when I had to have 8 discs fused. Twice , 3 years apart. If I thought I was damaged goods when my hip was done , I had now stepped into the do everything you can to get rid of this not whole person. From not even receiving a get well card to being shoved from chair to chair around the salon , to clients being told I dont work there.The last 10 years proved to be fight after fight to keep my place. So this year , Ive changed my life completely becoming a Life Coach & Reiki master , with an office opened in Mount Pearl to practice from . I had planned to begin my new life in Jan 2015. However the universe said no no and another argument with the owner pushed me out earlier than I had planned. Life became hell for me.All Im looking for is happiness in my work life which I now have. So 13 years later , the day I finished, the owners were gone with not even as much as a thank you or a wave. I had hoped to remain friends with the owners however they have decided differently. As we walk into 2015 may Everyone reading this have the best happiest most successful year EVER ! The Hair Factory has blocked me from their main FB page. Karma has an amazing way of taking care of ALL of us. People , please treat others with love and respect , as I am sending to this sad sad place and Everyone in it.
