Good News must share Nepal’s national cricket team will tour Sri Lanka for 22 days from November 7 to 29 before the ACC Championship. The ACC Championship is scheduled to take place from December 7 to 14 in Singapore, where the top four teams from the ACC Premier League held in May in Malaysia will play two-day matches with each other. According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the tour is funded by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Uttam Karmacharya, acting general secretary of CAN, said Nepal will play two three-day matches and a two-day match during its Sri Lanka tour. “Nepal will play matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’ team, a district-level team and a club,” said Karmacharya. He added that the tour would be helpful in Nepal’s preparations for the ACC Championship. The tour became possible after the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) executive committee on September 1 decided to host tours for non-Test playing nations of Asia, including Nepal, for the development of cricket in the region. The SLC’s executive committee has decided to host tours for Nepal, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong. After the SLC’s decision, Nepal cricket team head coach Pududu Dassanayake had said the SLC’s initiative would be fruitful for Nepal and had expressed belief that Nepal would get chances to play against the best teams during the Sri Lanka tourist
