Good afternoon! We dont believe the Constitution is flawed - TopicsExpress

Good afternoon! We dont believe the Constitution is flawed either. We do believe that America is basically living under two different Constitutions right now: the Constitution as written and the Constitution as interpreted by the Supreme Court. If we really want to fix federal overreach, then we have got to bring the Constitution as interpreted by the Supreme Court back into line with the Constitution as written. We can do this by passing clear amendments with no loopholes for Congress or the Court to exploit, and we can end the growing tyranny in Washington, D.C. There are definitely republicans that support big government. No disagreement there! Thats why our grassroots strategy has to be used in order to educate the people and influence the decision of our representatives. Our legislature has to listen to the people they are responsible for representing. Thanks for your questions and have a great day! I have read your strategy and still dont know how changing the structure as Mr. Farris advocates will remedy the situation. Congress can reign in the judiciary using Article 3 Section 2-limiting the appellate jurisdiction of the court. I dont see the U.S. Constitution as flawed. I see those that are suppose to uphold their oaths as flawed. Also, coming form a progressive state would suggest that the delegates from my state would be progressives. And I know that there is currently 27 or so states that have a republican majority, many Republicans are of the Neo-Con stripe and support big government. Good morning, Thanks for your interest in the Convention of States Project! Your concerns are understandable. We realize it can be frustrating to live in a more progressive area, but it is crucial we rally support from every state. Even if you do not think Massachusetts is likely to pass an application, it is important for this to be a nationwide effort. The cry for a Convention of States has to come from every point on the map! Keep in mind that even if your state doesn’t apply for a convention it can still appoint delegates to the convention and ratify any amendments that the convention proposes. This makes your involvement critical, even in states that may not pass our application. Much of our interest is in not as much the invention and application of new rules, but in the application of the Constitution as written and not as interpreted by Congress. Our hope then is to write very specific language that clarifies and adjusts both the Commerce Clause and the General Welfare Clause, in addition to other flawed interpretations of the Constitution by the federal judiciary. If you would like to read more about our strategy, I would encourage you to go to our website, where we have assembled very thorough information, and especially here: conventionofstates/the-strategy/ Thank you so much for your interest in Convention of States, and I hope you have a fantastic day! Delegates to a convention from my state and many others wont be on the same page. How will you negate their influence. And with good reason. The President continues to legislate from the Oval Office, government expansion shows no signs of slowing down, and our Constitution won’t survive much longer.
