Good lessons for here. While I support the fuel price increase, the continued mess that afflicts Indonesia: bad infrastructure, lousy public services, lawlessness and endless corruption WILL anger the public DESPITE falling poverty rates and reasonable growth rate in the last few years. All these are worsened by the impotence of the political leadership who is all rhetorics but lacking real efforts or even obvious, unorchestrated, empathy. The same reason why Indonesians so far are enamored with Jokowi. Because real living conditions continue to be very bad and most mainstream political leaders do not care let alone deliver.
