Good morning. I had better get this posted as we are in Glacier - TopicsExpress

Good morning. I had better get this posted as we are in Glacier Bay and with our new satellite service already still being fine-tuned.............which means the sodding thing works less than the owner of a Paris based Deodorants Are Us Store...........I had better crack on posting todays bits and pieces. Yesterday in Juneau the weather was absolutely gorgeous and the sun shone uninterrupted all day. As I spoke to people before the show and later at cigars under the stars ( and golden moon ) they actually told me they had mild sunburn while out on the glaciers. But it was a beautiful day and although we have not seen the Northern Lights yet the guests were treated to a golden moon rise from behind the mountains and I will have photos from Mr.Radu later It was not though a happy day for Gary and Charlotte who had to leave the ship yesterday. They flew home from Juneau because their house was destroyed, I mean totally destroyed in a fire in San Diego, California. They received word of this early yesterday morning and of course they had to begin the long flight home yesterday. I spoke with them briefly and they were putting on a brave face but I could see how devastated they both. Can you imagine, you’re on a cruise, having the very best of times when someone calls you to say your house, your home and everything that you have saved and cherished over many years ...........has gone. We took care of them on board arranging flights and transport for them and today they are very much on my mind. It was interesting reading your comments about the ships crew dressing in the Alaskan Way one night and it looks like we will go ahead with this and have bar, casino, entertainment, shop and a few others dress in their flannel shirts and jeans. And if we do this and then involve the guests, the ship will look like an episode of Little House on the Prairie. I used to love that show. remember Charles Ingalls was a hero and some of the lazy youth of today should use old Charles as a role model. Working seven hours a day for a lumber company, then another six hours stacking grain, then another few ploughing his farm – all to keep his family together and a roof over their heads. Bugger me, even when Charles falls out of a tree after trying to dislodge his daughter’s kite from a branch and breaks his ribs , he still drags himself to work and carries on piling the corn sacks in writhing agony. Even the villains like Nellie Oleson and her mother all had a good heart, even when little Albert burnt down the blind school everyone had forgiven him by the end of the episode. What else? Two guests from two different cabins have asked for monetary compensation because of the fog horn not allowing them any sleep. Later we have the past guest party for 628 VIFPs after which I shall meet with the Captain to look at the weather and the current to see if we can call at Victoria, Canada...............or not. Thank goodness this is the alst cruise where we will have this concern. The park rangers are on board telling the guests about this extraordinary Glacier and mentioned we may Seals this morning and is explaining all about their mating habits. So that about brings you up to date and I had better crack on answering your questions and of course on this glorious day in Glacier Bay, I wish you were here. Cheers Oh one more thing. Do you think the park rangers would be upset if I got on te PA system and said On the port side in cabin 7*** you can see and hear the mating habits of Mr and Mrs Rabitt who again last night were banging away like a screen door in a hurricane...................yep, the men in the big hats probably wouldn’t appreciate that would they?
