Good morning Lincoln County here’s what’s happening. Ruidoso Downs Police Chief Doug Babcock resigned Friday after being placed on probationary status two weeks ago. Ruidoso Downs Gary Williams announced the appointment Corporal Christopher Rupp as interim Police Chief effective today. Governor Susana Martinez announced the expansion of the "New Mexico Reads to Lead" reform initiative to now include every school district in the state. Starting this month, the $14.5 million initiative will provide at least $50,000 in new funds to every school district in the state. The New Mexico Human Services Department’s Child Support Enforcement Division is encouraging every one of the more than 700 individuals with bench warrants issued due to delinquent child support payments to visit one of the 14 CSED offices across the state and pay up to get their bench warrant quashed before law enforcement begin their round-up later this month.
