Good morning, all! I have been struggling with what I am feeling - TopicsExpress

Good morning, all! I have been struggling with what I am feeling in the wake of Robin Williams passing, as Im sure a lot of you are too. As an actor and stand up comedian, not on the persistent and consistent level of people Melinda and I know in the biz, I can tell you that on many levels the demons we all deal with make us who we are to a certain extent. They are the ones in the dark at the back of the bus driving. It is how we steer those demons in our lives that makes them manageable. Robin used his to make people laugh, think and ultimately, cry. I used to get on a goofy roll at times, most always not on stage (drat!) and declare myself a Poor mans Robin Williams due to feeling the genius, manic-rant come on if only for a second or two, and think that must be what he feels every day! For those who felt a deeper connection: having either met him or been inspired by him or both, I harkened back at learning about Sam Kinison in much the same way with shock and sadness. The number of people inspired to step on that stage for their first three minutes by Robin is staggering. And yes, many can quote the entire dialogue of Dead Poets Society also as a result. But for me, Robins delivery of the word sport addressing Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting signaled that the comedy may have been his second best attribute and sent shivers down my spine and still do when I watch that film. Thank God for celluloid, vinyl, DVDs and CDs that he will be with us always. Nanoo Nanoo, Mork :(
