Good morning everyone. After a chilly start another lovely day is expected for most of England and Wales with long spells of spring sunshine. A different picture in Northern and Western Scotland with cloud and rain already in the far North West. This will slowly spread South East, perhaps reaching Central parts of Scotland by the end of the day. A little rain is also expected further East in Scotland for a time. Ahead of this rain, cloud will increase for the remainder of Scotland and also parts of Northern England turning the sunshine rather hazy during this afternoon, although it should stay mainly dry away from North Western and Central Scotland. Northern Ireland will see a fine day, although more in the way of cloud than England and Wales and perhaps an odd shower. Some sunny spells are expected, especially during this morning before cloud continues to increase, perhaps bringing more persistent yet mainly light rain to Western parts towards the end of the day. Winds will be light for much of the UK although a breeze developing in Northern parts of the UK, particularly in North Western Scotland, and also becoming rather breezy for the Central belt of Scotland this afternoon. Sea breezes will also develop along Southern and Eastern coasts of England. Maximum temperatures today typically ranging from 12°C to 15°C for much of England, perhaps as high as 17°C for inland areas of South East England. It will be cooler along Southern and Eastern coasts thanks to an onshore breeze. Wales will see similar values to England with maximum temperatures here also ranging from 12°C to 15°C. A cooler day in Scotland with temperatures typically ranging from 8°C to 13°C. The coolest weather will be in North Western parts. Milder conditions for Southern and Eastern parts of Scotland. Top temperatures today in Northern Ireland will range from 11°C to 14°C, perhaps a little warmer in Southern parts. Todays pollen count will be high for much of England and Wales, although moderate in East Anglia and Northern parts of England. Moderate levels are also expected for Northern Ireland and Central Scotland. The remainder of Scotland will see a low pollen count today. The UV index today will be moderate for England, Wales and Eastern parts of Northern Ireland. The UV index also be moderate in Southern parts of Scotland. Low levels are expected across the remainder of Scotland and also in Western parts of Northern Ireland. This evening and overnight rain will continue in North Western and Central parts of Scotland, continuing its journey slowly South East into parts of Northern England. The rain will be mainly light and patchy but one or two heavier bursts are likely in places. Rain will clear Northern parts of Scotland later in the night but blustery showers will then move in, some of which could be heavy at times. Rain for Northern Ireland too, which will be mainly light and patchy in nature and should clear by the end of the night with cloud breaking. Some mist developing in hilly parts of Northern Ireland. Elsewhere for much of England and Wales it will be another dry night with largely broken cloud, especially the further South and East you are. Cloud will continue to increase from the North and West. Becoming rather chilly in Central and Western parts of England although on the whole it wont be as cold as last night and any frost will be restricted to rural parts. Winds will be mainly light for the Southern half of the UK, although rather breezy for Northern parts. Gales developing in far Northern and Western parts of Scotland for a time. Minimum temperatures overnight ranging from 4°C to 8°C in England and Wales, perhaps a little colder in rural areas. Scotland will see similar overnight lows ranging from 4°C to 8°C for most although colder in the Highlands. Milder in Northern Ireland with minimum values here ranging from 7°C to 10°C.
