Good new for Maggie! Maggie is out of surgery and recovering - TopicsExpress

Good new for Maggie! Maggie is out of surgery and recovering nicely. Turns out....Maggie likes to eats socks. Maggie had a sock in her stomach and partway in her intestine. So, they opened up both her stomach and intestine to remove the sock, and she is expected to make a full recovery. There is some risk of leakage from the intestine over the next week, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This has been a tough couple of days for the rescue. We found out Cami was heartworm positive and then Maggie needed a rather expensive surgery so she could live. We want to thank everyone who has donated, both this week and in the past. It is so very much appreciated! Maggies trip to the local vet for x-rays, fluids, barium study, was over $700. The surgery will cost between $2500-$3500. If you feel you would like to help with these costs, that would be great. You can actually call the Veterinary Medical Services directly at 608-831-1101 before Sunday (her expected release date) to make a donation. We have to have the bill paid in full before she can be released, so payments direct to the vet would have to be made before then. If you cannot make a donation right now, that is okay too. Please just share our dogs and help to find them forever families! Every dollar of our adoption fees goes to pay vet bills for not only that dog, but sometimes to help cover costs exactly like this. Ruff Life Rescue is truly a community family...and we are able to help as many dogs as we do because of your continued support by adopting dogs in our rescue and sharing the word with others! We will keep you updated on Maggie as we hear things through the weekend. Oh....and no babies yet for Ellie May.
