Good news! By the middle of the afternoon yesterday, Robin felt - TopicsExpress

Good news! By the middle of the afternoon yesterday, Robin felt ready to CAREFULLY take a shower. She started moving around a little more. By evening, she claimed to be much better. I sometimes have concern that shes just practicing mind over matter, but she did look much better. This morning she got up and claimed to be feeling a little weak but no longer dizzy...and well enough to go to school. Praise God. I suppose the dizziness could have been made worse this time by having the MRI at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and not having her shunt reset until 9:30 a.m. the next day? Robin had the MRI in St. Paul which is not near the surgeons office in Minneapolis. Since she having chemo the next morning, I called the surgeons office and they told me that, as long as the shunt was reset within 24 hours, it would be fine. So that could have increased the dizziness, I suppose. Oh, well...alls well that ends well. I emailed her doctor this morning to let her know that Robin was much better and apologized for having bothered her on a Sunday, although Im pretty sure she didnt mind. Perhaps those 2 horrible months that we spent dealing with a sinus infection that was really a brain tumor have made me somewhat of a Nervous Nellie. I was very thankful that the doctor emailed me back...as it was reassuring to at least hear that she didnt feel that it was an emergency, but also didnt just write me off. She voiced her care and concern and I am grateful. On an unrelated, but amusing, topic...Robin asked me to check parent portal on her school website this morning as final 1st quarter grades were to be posted. We found out that the science test that she took at the end of last week that she was hoping would raise her science grade from a B+ to an A- had not been posted yet, so her 1st quarter science grade is a B+. However, her first quarter GPA is 3.6 and I said, Wow, thats great, Robin! All I got for my encouragement was a glare. Are you kidding? Thats unacceptable! The kid is a hoot. I assured her that, even with a 3.6, she should still be able to get into college. :) Shes full of plans for the Halloween party that she having here this coming Saturday night. Prayers for Dale and I, please. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!
