Good news everyone! The Potterfields - Owners of Midway USA - a very large shooting, hunting and outdoor retailer - created a Foundation and have donated millions of dollars to youth programs over the years. When we registered with the SCTP several years ago, Chris also created an Endowment Account with the Midway USA Foundation. In late August Chris received a call from Mr. Tim Foster - NE Regional Director for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation - who informed me that the OCCC was chosen by their organization to receive a donation to our Midway USA Foundation Endowment Account in the amount of $10,000! Amazingly, we have nearly $28,000 in our Endowment Account. We can accumulate up to $500,000. Every time we participated in a State Shoot the Potterfields donated money to our account. They also contributed money to help our account grow. We are allowed to withdraw 5% of our Account Balance each year. That is about $1,400 right now. For the balance of 2013 the Potterfields will match any PRIVATE donations 2:1. If someone donates $25 to our account the Pottterfields will donate $50, making the total donation $75. As far as I know there is no limit on the match - If someone donated $1,000 the Potterfields will donate $2,000 making the total donation $3,000 and so on... All donations are tax deductible. Please consider making a donation yourself to our Team if you can. But more importantly pass this information along to others. This is the time of year when some people and Businesses are starting to think about their TAXES. It may be more pleasing to them, to donate to the Orleans County Clay Crushers, Inc. through the Midway USA Foundation rather than giving their money to the IRS.
