Gotham Season 1 Episode 8 Recap: Behind The Mask This was probably the worst episode of Gotham to date. Titled The Mask, Gotham Season 1 Episode 8 didnt feature an especially engaging Case of the Week, as Harvey and Gordon looked into the death of someone in the financial industry, someone who was killed by a number of blows to the face and who was found with a finger in his mouth. The investigation did play off of the fact that no one else in the precinct is willing to help Gordon, which offers up some intriguing storylines going forward. Watch Gotham Season 1 Episode 8 Online But it concluded with Bullock (and the Captain, wanting to make up for abandoning Gordon when Falcones men came for him last week) tracking down Jim after he stumbled on the truth behind what had been going on: The head of some giant company had been organizing a fight club for hopeful new employees. They were tasked with beating each other up (while rich folks watched on video) in order to earn their job. But our favorite pair of detectives saved the day and solved this crime and that was about it for them this week. Except for the following unfortunate fact in Jims personal life: Sick of her fiances job and the impact it has on him, she left. Overall, however, the installment failed to deliver for a couple reasons: Too much focus on Edward Nygma, who we all know will become The Riddler, but who is being shoved down out throat every week as a mere tease. In this instance, he just acted all weird a lot. WAY too much focus on Bruce Wayne. He may turn into Batman someday, but hes just a boring 12-year old right now. He asked Alfred to teach him how to fight after some classmates talked badly about his mom. Elsewhere: Fish continued to plot against Falcone, having her minion woman drop some liquid into his tea that would knock Falcone out in order to retrieve an item from his home. Also, young Catwoman was arrested for stealing a lot of stuff and asked to see Gordon.
