Government convenes Emergency Security Meeting. His Excellency Governor Umaru has condemned the recent security challenge in Iggah community of Nasarawa Eggon LGA in which some persons lost their lives and others were displaced . The state governor disclosed this during an emergency security meeting convened to appraise the situation, at the Government house Lafia. Gov. Almakura said that the meeting would also discuss the outcome of the expanded secure meeting, convened by president as well as the meeting of the representatives of the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders and the Northern Governors Forum held last week in Abuja. After a closed door session with all the security chiefs , the state security council and the heads of the traditional council the press were briefed by the Nasarawa State commissioner of Police Ibrahim Idris. Who disclosed that government would take bold steps to resolve the problem, among which the council agreed that His Excellency the Governor would meet with the President to brief him and highlight some of the serious issues on what uncured in Iggah Community. The Security Council also agreed that all law enforcement agencies would try to locate all persons that were displace and find a way to provide them relief. The Police commissioner said investigations were ongoing to access exactly what happened, and to ensure that those responsible were made to face the full wrath of the law. Lastly, he urged members of the public to come forward with any information they had to assist the security personnel in their investigation and preventing other clashes of this kind.
