Graduate (after graduation) internship scheme Please find below details of a POST graduation internship scheme which the Careers Service is running. The scheme is part funded by Santander, who have given us 20 wage-subsidies to help encourage local small to medium sized businesses to recruit University of Sheffield Graduates. · The internships can be in any role or sector, as long as the work is of graduate level. · The internships are typically full-time and three months in duration. · The internships can commence any time from now until the end of June 2014. · The internships will be paid at a minimum of £1000 per month, but Santander will provide £15000 to subsidise the intern’s total wage (i.e. 50%). The remainder of the salary will be paid by the employer. · The Careers Service will also assist the employer in developing an appropriate internship project and advertising the vacancy to our graduates. We think this is a great opportunity for both graduates and local businesses; the graduates should develop useful skills and improve their employability and the businesses should benefit from the hard work and knowledge the intern can provide. Furthermore, when we ran our pilot scheme last year, half of the participating employers offered their graduate interns further work after the end of the internship – this is something that we continue to encourage.
