Graphic video, it shows a guy getting shot and killed by the police. I dont know how I feel about this, he had a knife, he was slowly walking towards them, there were two of them, didnt one of them have a reasonable chance to taze him? As soon as he showed the knife and was kind of far away one of em should have their gun out and the other the tazer. I guess he could have been a ninja knife thrower but I dont think he looked like that kind of person. One cop tries to taze him, if it misses or he doesnt go right down and continues to come towards them, then shoot him like they did. Disclaimers: 1. They may not have been carrying tazers. 2. This might be completely in line with their training and protocol. 3. I dont know if Im spelling tazer correctly, FB tells me Im wrong with either an s or a z. 4. This guys death is his own fault. Its basically a classic suicide by cop scenario. 5. I dont think these cops are bad people necessarily, but I also dont think this is the best way that this situation could have been handled. 6. This video does not prove anything in the Micheal Brown case, but it does illustrate what a lot of people have been saying is a problem. But it doesnt mean this is how it went down in the Brown death. Maybe withing the life threatening situation training, they can have reasonable different levels (if they dont already exist). Like, if a guy is creeping towards you with a knife, as soon as he gets into tazer range, you should automatically attempt that. This is only assuming that there are two cops with a clear aim at the suspect, and there is no danger in the scenario other than the one aggressor. If there are logistical reasons why this would endanger cops more than they already are (besides minuscule differences) , I wouldnt be for it. They should protect themselves first when they are attacked and shouldnt put their death or physical harm in jeopardy in those circumstances. Consider that they will take a bullet for you if you were being attacked.
