Great article featuring our Professor Paul Beckwith, Natalia Shakhova and AMEG (Arctic Methane Emergency Group) Methane is why I became intensely interested in climate change 10 years ago. Combine this with the fact that half of the worlds wildlife has disappeared within the last 40 years (from a report that just recently came out) :-( We are already in the midst of what scientists consider the sixth mass extinction in planetary history, with between 150 and 200 species going extinct daily, a pace 1,000 times greater than the natural or background extinction rate. This event may already be comparable to, or even exceed, both the speed and intensity of the Permian mass extinction. The difference: Ours is human caused.
