Great ride around Bewl and Bedgebury this morning. Then just as the train home was leaving Stonegate I saw Id left my backpack on the platform complete with wallet, bankcards, driving licence, season ticket etc. It was too late to stop the train, so as soon as I got home I drove back over.....and guess what? No bag on the platform. Even though there had been no trains in the meantime, and the station is in the middle of nowhere with no one around, someone had taken it. I was just phoning the bank to cancel my cards,when Tracy phoned so say someone from Network Rail had just dropped the bag off at home, complete with all contents. The guy had found it on the platform, seen my address on the driving licence, and driven it the 6 miles down country lanes back to our house. It got home less than an hour after I lost it. Thank you, Network Rail, and also thanks to the really helpful Southeastern trains guard. Amazing service!
