Great work to NBPDs third shifters on this story. Winter Sunday - TopicsExpress

Great work to NBPDs third shifters on this story. Winter Sunday nights in New Berlin can be less than thrilling at times, but one of our late shift officers had more excitement than he bargained for when he clocked a speeding vehicle at over 100 mph on radar near 124th and Greenfield just before midnight on Sunday night. He attempted to stop the car and a chase ensued westbound on Greenfield, then back eastbound on Greenfield, maintaining speeds over 100mph when the driver of the vehicle lost control near Elm Grove Road and flipped the vehicle several times. The vehicle started on fire immediately and was covered in trees, but officers from New Berlin, Brookfield, West Allis, Milwaukee County Sheriffs Department and members of the New Berlin Fire Department were able to free the driver by lifting the car and geting him out safely. The driver, a 20 year old male from Milwaukee, was alone in the vehicle and was treated for minor injuries and was eventually taken to the Waukesha County Jail on charges of eluding, possession of cocaine, speeding, operating without a license, and reckless driving. He was also wanted for questioning by several Milwaukee County police departments for his role in several felony and possibly violent crimes in their cities. Great teamwork by all on a boring Sunday night in New Berlin! jrn/tmj4/news/Early-morning-police-chase-ends-in-fiery-crash-287001961.html
