Greatest moment with my dad: October 10, 1964. It was the third game of the World Series between the Yankees and Cardinals. We were sitting in right field at Yankee Stadium. In the bottom of the 9th inning, with the scored tied 1-1, Mickey Mantle came up to the plate. My dad turned and said, "Mickey is going to homer on the first pitch and win this game." Everyone around us heard what he said. Barney Schultz delivered the first pitch and "Crack!" The ball exploded off the bat, lifted high in the air, and landed in the seats right in front of us. First pitch. Home run. Bottom of the 9th. Game over! My jar dropped. At that moment, my dad could do no wrong, was the most amazing man on the planet and larger than life. It was....perfect!
