Greetings! I was in the hospital for 4 days last week and had a bunch of tests for several things. Good news? Heart is looking good, lungs are good, feet are normal - swollen and painful - but okay. However, CT scans revealed 3 lymph nodes that look suspicious (dont you love when Drs say that?) I went to my Oncologist today and she thinks they are either benign or malignant tumors. Really? No other choice? ;) Im scheduled for a PET scan to see whats up. Either it will be dark and the tumors will get preventative chemo to keep them from turning OR - Ill light up like a Christmas tree (sorry, my Jewish friends) and that will be a different ball game. More aggressive chemo but a under-50% chance it will help. Good odds, no? I promise to not go into so much detail because a lot of my friends cry too much - and others are tired of seeing it. I hate these begging-for-money posts because Im tired of asking people who are barely getting by to help a stranger delay the inevitable. Next update will be thumbs up or down, and after that its concentrating on trying to get transportation (with all the new clinics Im going to have to visit, some of them either requite 2 or 3 different buses OR some of them arent on a direct bus route at all.) At the same time, I have to concentrate more on helping my wife. There is so much I have to do for her - her memory and motor skills are diminishing and I have to help her with just about everything in her life. I hope to get calls back soon from the United Way and some County departments. We also need to move from our second floor apartment because of lack of mobility or even an assisted living facility if need be. Time will tell. I am glad to get this off my chest and I appreciate your kind words. We love you all so much and will continue to do so. Remember, if not us, find others close to you and yours who are battling cancer and give them what help you can. How cool is that? Rob & Chrissie
