Greetings old friends and new. For those of you who don’t know - TopicsExpress

Greetings old friends and new. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Donald Sherlock McReynolds. This is my debut on Facebook. I have just published The Light Body Exercises, A new distillation of Chi Gung. I am pleased with the final version. It was nearly seven years ago when I first put pen to paper to record a collection of exercises that had become very important to me. You can learn more about The Light Body Exercises by visiting my website: DonaldSMcReynolds. I have both selfish and altruistic reasons for joining the Facebook community. Obviously, I want to promote my book. But moreover, I finally feel like I’ve made a valuable contribution to humanity as a whole; all that remains is to put it out there so that those whom it benefits can benefit. While the rest of my life has been a rollercoaster, high highs and low lows in rapid succession, my growth in, and understanding of, Chi Gung, Yoga, and Martial Arts has been a steady expansion for more than twenty five years. I say, without any reservation, that I would not have made it these last twenty five years had these exercises not made themselves an intrinsic and indispensable part of my life. These exercises are the bedrock foundation upon which the rest exists. While it is my belief that all people are challenged, I believe that that is precisely what life is: a challenge; it is also my belief that some of us are more challenged than others. While it is my belief that we are all blessed individuals; we are clearly not all unique to the same degree (Bell Curve?). When I look forwards and backwards at my own unique challenges, I find that they are very unique indeed. It seems that most of them are intended for me alone. Yet, there are two great categories of challenge, that I have faced, and that I believe that the sharing of my experiences can be helpful to others. The first category of challenge is health and wellbeing, and the second is spiritual understanding: what is the point of life and why am I here struggling? On the spiritual path, an individual may choose to follow me or not. Most probably cannot; even fewer probably want to. Again, my challenges are pretty unique. What individuals really should pay attention to is this: I have found a spiritual path; one that can be taken by any individual, regardless of his or her relative degree of uniqueness. Please do not follow me down my path; we don’t really want each other’s company in the darkness. Please follow this path, the one I have charted, and the one that we share just like we share the same air. Please follow this path, and let it lead you to your own unique place of light and understanding. As far as health and wellbeing, I started well to the left on the Bell Curve of humanity’s overall health and wellbeing. Had I been part of a litter, I would have been the nearly stillborn runt that the farmer wouldn’t even try to save. But that was then. I had a body on par with Quasimodo and an ego on par with Superman (if he had an ego, which I do not know). Because I was not part of a litter, they decided to save me. They did try to tell me that I wasn’t Superman, but I refused to believe them. I was determined that my body should catch up with who I knew I was. And to this end, I sacrificed everything: family, relationships, career opportunities… Sacrificed everything and blindly believed that light really did exist for me at the end of the darkness. And then I found it; the one single answer to both challenges. A spiritual path that provided real answers to my questions, and, at the very same time, a method for turning the malformed blob of clay that I started with into a body that now falls somewhere on the right side of the Bell Curve of humanity’s overall health and wellbeing: Chi Gung. While I may never be any type of athletic champion or gold medalist; I find myself perfectly content just as long as I stay to the right of center. Left of center is a place I spent a lot of time and do not care to revisit.
