Guest professor to preach at United Disciples of Christ Church Dr. Richard Ward, professor of homiletics and worship at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, will be preaching Sunday morning at United Disciples of Christ, the merging congregations of First and Disciples Christian Churches. Author of two books and numerous academic articles, Ward is particularly interested in the arts of storytelling and oral interpretation of scripture as they inform and enrich the ministry of preaching. “Richard Ward is a gifted communicator of the gospel,” said Bill Inglish, minister of United Disciples. “He has the rare ability to simultaneously delight and challenge his listeners, touching heart, mind and soul in conveying biblical truth.” United Disciples is currently worshipping downtown, at 520 S. Osage, next door to the Community Center.
