Guru in the life of a Shiva devotee Many devotees will experience going through a guru as a guide through their spiritual path. Remember the following pointers 1. Anyone who guides can essentially be a guru. This world is my guru, and I learn from everyone. 2. Your first guru are your parents. Treat them with care and respect 3. Gurus are not the only way to enlightenment and understanding Shiva. One who reads, reflects, and discovers, can get there as well 4. You do not need to be exclusive to one guru, you can go and listen to others. It is all about gaining knowledge 5. Gurus do not demand or ask anything from their disciples. They do not even ask or demand for respect. A true guru merely loves everyone, and people reciprocate that love. 6. Gurus do not impose rules. They are there to guide and advise. 7. Gurus are a source of positivity 8. A guru is an example of living the values of Shiva. Gurus are love, peace, and enlightenment 9. Gurus motivate and empower everyone to be better than the best. 10. Gurus are leaders who create leaders. They guide by example. 11. A true guru does not threaten or curse. They have no arrogance to impose and scare people. They are above that level of emotion
