Waso Ward seemed to have highlighted the excursion being a stronghold of the County’s Chief during last General Elections. It was a moment of homecoming ceremony for thanksgiving but again listening to the plight of the area’s residents and addressing the various ambitious work-plans to develop the area. There was ambience in the atmosphere and passionate speeches with a religious following of set programmes protocols. There was a good turnout as residents came in numbers . . . To cut the long story short, the governor had the following among others, in the goodies gallery for Waso residents:- - The County Government is issuing KES 1.5M to our group ranches - All our 5 conservancies are each given KES 2M budgetary boost, that leaves Waso with a direct cash injection of KES 13M including group ranches allocation - On security, he will recruit 10 dedicated rangers fully facilitated with new Landcruiser truck, automatic guns and necessary gear to combat road banditry and cattle rustling in Losesia, Naishamunye, Greater Sera, Sereolipi and Ndonyo Wasin areas - On water, he confirmed the process of electricity connection to water supply is on the process, and this is evident as KPLC reinstalled a transformer there. - On Health, he is commissioning KES 30M dispensary in Archer’s and an ambulance stationed in the same facility. - He is giving adequate chances of Rangers recruitment to the people of Waso covering the entire areas of Ndonyo Wasin, Sereolipi, Archer’s, Kiltamany and Westgate. Also he has special allocation for full scholarship for all A and A- students and currently supporting Fred Ndeki for his Medicine course paying KES 475,000 per year. The same applies to other beneficiaries undertaking rare disciplines in the county like Engineering. He also thanked the residents of Archer’s for opening a new day school, named Girgir Mix. He has vowed to support young mothers with intention to go back to school, with full scholarships. - He also notified the locals the County has allocated Uwezo Fund an additional KES 15M from its coffers, adding to the amount distributed to constituencies by the National Government. - He also mulled to fulfill Jubilee Government new policy of efficient service delivery of a One-Stop-Shop a.k.a Uduma, in all wards hosted in Ward Administrators offices. - Very soon he will start hiring Village Administrators and he will task them to ensure all kids in their villages goes to school, and overseeing security in their areas of focus. Failure of that, they will be answerable. - Giving KPR incentives, will be his next immediate move ensuring they are fully equipped with automatic weapon and not the old Mark IV rifle, uniformed and operating under an organized command. - He also said his government has set aside drought contingency fund, and in case of uncertainties of calamity, his government is ready to cushion his people from the effects of drought, increase provision of food and water trucking. - Last but not least, there will be a landmark issuing of 4,500 cows that were forcefully confiscated by the government in Waso, in 2009. His government is committed to see victims getting back their animals soonest, and he has a record of names and how many animals each lost. This came courtesy of his efforts and other leaders pushing Jubilee Government to compensate the victims.
