HANDY HOUSEHOLD HINT FOR KEEPING CILANTRO, PARSLEY, BASIL AND OTHER HERBS FRESH LONGER: STORE SITTING IN WATER OUTSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR! I almost didnt buy this cilantro yesterday because it was SO wilted. But then I remembered Mary Devereauxs post the other day re storing basil -- a trick I knew but had forgotten! So I bought the puny-looking bunch and when I got home, I took scissors and snipped off the very ends of the stems and put the bunch into a cup of my spring- fed well water and let them sit over night on my kitchen counter. Voila! Resurrected from the near- dead ! I plan to keep this sitting on the counter where not only is it pretty to look at, but its a great reminder to use it!
