HEARTS CAUGHT UP IN SORROW My childhood scoured the hills with ease of practice And moved beyond, where rugged rocks met waves With gentleness or rage and men, oblivious, By their own hand had found their water graves. Do friends turned foes ever make peace, forgetting The feuds death and circumstance bring forth? How can there be togetherness between us When he, my love conspired to abort? I look no more with eyes devoid of sadness To squander time. My sins of avid hate All stem from bleeding heart’s incline, demeanour, Bereavers’ grief fond memories cultivate. I shun him now, forever, swim in tears, Condemn his tricks and foibles, bear him grudge. He has a way of flirting with the minnows But hearts caught up in sorrow do not budge.
